** Applications for 2024 are currently closed. Thank you for your interest in Camp BUCKO!**

Please check back in the new year for Camp BUCKO 2025 🙂

Thank you so very much for your interest in volunteering at Camp BUCKO!!! Volunteering at Camp BUCKO is a dynamic opportunity to challenge yourself while supporting the growth of young burn survivors. We are appreciative of our volunteers and the time they give. It is important for you to understand the Camp BUCKO philosophy and appreciate the environment that we are striving to create.

Since 1995, Camp BUCKO has provided a 6-day camp for children who have various kinds of burn injuries. We are a registered charity with a strong volunteer base and we accept a diverse group of volunteers based on the number of children attending camp each year. Camp BUCKO is a unique experience that blends fun, social and recreational activities with opportunities for campers to talk about their burn experience.

Camp BUCKO Mission Statement

Camp BUCKO is a fun, safe, and caring camp program free to kids ages 7 to 17 with burn injuries. Our residential setting encourages campers to participate in a variety of social, recreational and therapeutic activities that promote self-esteem, the development of leadership skills and personal growth. At Camp BUCKO, kids have a place where they can be themselves without feeling different or alone.

Camp Aims and Goals

  • To have a fun filled outdoor adventure
  • To create a sense of community by providing a place where campers can learn about themselves and others with similar experiences
  • To introduce campers to dynamic role models by including adult burn survivors as Camp BUCKO volunteers
  • To promote each child’s unique abilities and strengths as steps in enhancing self-acceptance
  • To promote opportunities for campers to learn about working in groups as well as in one-on-one interactions among peers of the same and opposite sex.

Camp commences on Sunday August 11, 2024 and ends on Saturday August 17, 2024.
